In 1983 Motorola, a company that produced car phones and such, introduced to the United States' the first ever mobile cellular telephone. This early phone was invented by a man named Martin Cooper who worked at Motorola at the time. The first cell phone was very inconvenient weighing in at two pounds! The phone only had a 20 minute battery life but Martin Cooper revealed that it didn't matter because you couldn't hold it that long anyway. That old phone is sad in comparison to newer cell phones that don't weigh nearly that much. This cell phone was introduced as the DynaTAC 8000X. Motorola started everything and it's thanks to them that we enjoy all of our cell phones today.
